Forum Rules

Gemeinsam statt allein (GSA) is a project of Schicksal und Herausforderung e. V. As such, it is managed by the SuH administration. You can find out who that is under Our Team. Below the rules you will find a link to further useful information. Rules are always restrictive to a certain extent and this cannot be changed. Sometimes you may feel the need to discuss something from your own life that is not possible here in the forum because of the rules. Or something that is too intimate for such a public environment. If so, please email us directly at mailbox@suh-ev.de, as we are also happy to advise you directly and personally.

The Board-rules of Gemeinsam statt allein:
status of February 2020

  1. Basiscs:
    1. Sexual activity with kids is strictly rejected.
You must first and foremost be committed to never engaging in sexual activity with a minor in the future. If you have done so in the past, you should sincerely believe that it was a serious mistake. All the discussion on this board takes as its premise that sexual activity between adults and children is wrong and unethical no matter what the circumstances are. Existing laws about sexual contacts with children are accepted. The idea that it is only the legal system and misguided attitudes of society that keep adult-child sex from being a good thing is not welcome here. More about our teams basic attitudes can be found on the SuH main website and it is mostly identical with the attitudes of VirPed’s team.
    2. Documents depicting child sexual abuse are rejected as well.
We don’t allow the discussion of pros and cons of the legal status or moral issues of so-called “child porn” on our board. If you want to discuss those you’ll have to do so elsewhere. Note: that does not apply to drawn fictional or entirely virtual material.
    3. Confidentiality: No quoting elsewhere!
No pedophile peer-support can work these days without strict confidentiality. Therefore it is against the rules for a member to quote anyone directly off of the board without explicit written permission of the author. “Off the board” means people who are not members of this board or have been banned. (See Contract). But note: all posters must be aware that any hostile party can break this rule and forward anything you post to a wide audience.
The team itself has clarified its guidelines at ”Guidelines of Confidentiality“. All of SuH’s team takes those guidelines very seriously within all of its sub-projects.
  2. Your Account:
    1. Name rules: Names must be fictional and effable. Must not be distasteful, misleading or contain CL symbolism
Usernames shall not be your real names or derived from them. They have to be effable and readable and may not be discriminating, scurrilous, foul-mouthed or distasteful/inappropriate in other ways. You may choose “normal” names like “Jane Doe” or “Bertrand” as well as inventions like “Knorks93”. Spaces and special characters are mostly allowed in usernames.
Your username shall not make you appear as someone else (like someone known in the community that you are not or as a celebrity).
Wording like girllover, boylover, child lover or their abbreviations are not allowed in usernames. The reason for that is their close relation to groups that used them to euphemize child sexual abuse.
    2. Names must be fictional and effable.
Usernames shall not be your real names or derived from them. They have to be effable and readable and may not be discriminating, scurrilous, foul-mouthed or distasteful/inappropriate in ather ways. You may choose “normal” names like “Jane Doe” or “Bertrand” as well as inventions like “Knorks93”. Spaces and special characters are mostly allowed in usernames.
    3. Your username shall not make you appear as someone else (like someone known in the community that you are not or as a celebrity).
    4. Only one account per capita.
Registering more than one account is usually seen as serious act of deception by our team and treated as such (immediate ban). Only if special circumstances are described to us beforehand we may grant a new account/fresh start for someone as a courtesy.
    5. Terms like Girllover, Boylover or their Shortcuts not desired in the name.
The reason for this is the close association of these terms with groups (or their origins) that have attempted to legalise or trivialise sexual assault in recent decades, and in some cases still do so today. They are also seen by some as euphemisms that trivialise sex with children as ‘loving’. However, as this is controversial, we have only applied the explicit ban to the usernames.
    6. Profile images: no photos of children or Child Love symbols.
Images of children that are easily recognizable as drawings (like Cartoons for example) are allowed but nothing that is or looks like a photograph. Moreover nudity, erotic, shocking or distasteful images are forbidden as well as Child Love symbols like the “girllover-heart” that have been popularized among people who (used to) legalize and euphemize child sexual abuse.
    7. Please introduce yourself within 4 weeks after registering.
No matter how active you are planning to be on our board please introduce yourself in our introduction sub-forum (not visible to guests). New accounts without an introduction will be deleted after about 4 weeks.
    8. New users’ posts will be moderated.
Until you’ve been here for a few weeks and have written a few dozen posts your posts will only be published after being read by a moderator. Therefore it may take a few hours after posting or editing a post till it is visible on the board. View that as a help for you to stick to the rules and a safety measure so that trolls can’t freely spam our forum. After some time the team will end your moderation.
  3. Posting:
    1. Respect others and be nice.
GSA’s main goal is to provide a platform for peer-support. Therefore the usual rules for good internet behavior apply, but we go farther than most groups in trying to keep a positive and respectful tone. You should assume the people who disagree with you mean well. Consider strongly the possibility that you might be misunderstanding them or they are not expressing themselves clearly. When you disagree, calmly give your reasons for your own view. Respect for others is essential if you want to participate in the group. See also Netiquette Guidelines.
    2. No Discrimination or belittling of child sexual abuse.
Posts that are sexist, racist or otherwise discriminating, salacious or erotic will be deleted. Utterings euphemising child sexual abuse as well.
    3. Notify-Button: help us maintain a good atmosphere.
Do you feel some post violates the rules or damages the ability of our forum to provide the peer-support we are aiming at? Please let us know via the !-button above each post. This way we as the moderators can react more quickly if we missed somthing somewhere that bothers you.
    4. If possible: no duplicate topics.
Before posting a new thread please check if there is one about the same topic already and if it could be revived instead of opening up a new one. After being de-moderated you may use the search function for that.
    5. No outing! Keep other users anonymous.
Each and every user if GSA is responsible to keep in mind what information they want to provide about themselves and what they want to keep to themselves. Only post details that neither directly nor indirectly reveal your or other users’ identities. Also we discourage getting in touch with users outside of the forum. If you do so, that is entirely up to your own responsibility. If some GSA-user bothers you inside or outside of the forum, please tell us. We’ll have an eye on that.
    6. No SPAM, no responsibility of the team for external links.
The forum’s team dies not take responsibility/liability for links that have been posted on th forum. If we discover links to questionable or illegal contents they will be deleted and the user posting them is getting … Advertisement for commercial websites is not allowed. Think before you click, you leave the protected realm of our forum by following external links.
    7. Posting images or videos of children regularly is not allowed.
This forum shall be a platform for peer-support and not for exchange of content with kids. But it is okay to post content with/about kids occasionally.
    8. No posting about your own or other users (alleged) illegal actions or that may encourage illegal activities!
This forum shall not invite investigators. Therefore there is an exception only for reports of illegal actions that are already known to the authorities if(!) those those reports are suitable to discourage similar behavior.
    9. Please contact the team directly if questions about moderation arise. Don’t ask within the forum.
We don’t want specific interventions of moderators to be discussed openly in the forum. If your post has been moderated and you have questions regarding the moderation or want to ask the team to re-evaluate that intervention, please use the notification button, the contact form or write an e-mail to mail@gsa-forum.de. Moderators will usually comment their intervention in the moderated post.
  4. Special rules for Journalists and other Professionals:
This section applies to people who are scientists, students or journalists. Rule of Thumb: If you are here on this board to do your job or to do research (and not to receive or provide peer-support) these rules apply to you:
    1. The username must be your real name: for transparency’s sake please register with your real name. Spaces and special characters are possible in usernames.
    2. Notice and keep in mind the special rules in case of abuse of data from the forum! See section 4 of the user contract.
    3. Before you question users or link to a questionnaire explain your plans to the team and ask them for permission via e-mail at mailbox@suh-ev.de!
  5. Sanktionen:
The team has various means at its disposal to sanction undesirable behaviour. Note: It is not just about the letter of the rules, but about maintaining the self-help character of the forum. For example:
    • Admonition/warning: in the case of minor offences, two admonitions are usually issued before a warning is issued. A warning may include a sanction, a caution is not normally issued without a sanction. Instead of a third warning, a temporary ban is issued and a permanent ban is discussed by the team.
    • Serious offences may also result in a direct warning and/or ban. Examples would be threatening other users or the team or posting other people's clear data.
    • Banning: can be temporary or permanent
    • Reset to moderation: can also be temporary or permanent
    • Restriction on the number of posts that may be posted per day
  6. Be kind to each other ;)
After all, we're all in the same boat and share common goals. Most things are not really worth arguing about, so please consider whether a disagreement is worth really harsh words and their effect on third parties, for example. In the Notes on netiquette you will find recommendations that serve as a guide.
